Job summary

Hanwha Energy USA, headquartered in Houston, seeks an experienced Energy Analytics Analyst with 1-3 years in deregulated retail electricity and/or wholesale power markets. The role focuses on ERCOT/PJM fundamentals, load and price forecasting, risk management, and portfolio optimization.

You will develop analytical models, build datasets, and partner with trading, origination, risk, and retail teams. Strong SQL, Python, data visualization and AI/LLM skills are required; onsite role in Houston.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or quantitative hard science.
• 1–3 years of energy industry experience applying modelling techniques.
• Experience with load forecasting, price forecasting, market analytics, risk management, and portfolio optimization.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to work with technical and non-technical teams.
• Knowledge of ERCOT market structure and fundamentals; PJM familiarity preferred.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with visualization tools.
• Eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance analytical solutions for wholesale power and retail energy.
• Build load and price forecasting models for ERCOT and PJM.
• Support trading, risk, supply management, and marketing with scenario analyses.
• Design scalable data pipelines using SQL and Python.
• Leverage Generative AI and LLMs to automate workflows and improve forecasts.
• Create dashboards and visualizations for stakeholders; communicate findings.
