We are seeking an experienced Energy Analytics Analyst who is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and driven to deliver business results. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in deregulated retail electricity and/or wholesale power markets, with a strong understanding of ERCOT and PJM market fundamentals, load forecasting, price formation, risk management, and supply portfolio optimization.
As part of Hanwha Energy USA's Energy Analytics team, this role will support critical commercial, trading, risk management, and operational decision-making through data-driven analysis and forecasting. The successful candidate will develop and maintain analytical models, extract actionable insights from large datasets, and partner closely with stakeholders across trading, origination, risk, supply management, and retail businesses.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical capabilities in SQL, Python, data visualization, and modern AI/LLM technologies with a practical understanding of energy markets. This individual should be comfortable taking ownership of projects from concept through implementation, driving results with minimal supervision, and rolling up their sleeves to solve business problems regardless of scope or complexity.
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Energy Analytics, this role requires a self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively with both technical and business audiences, and consistently demonstrates accountability, initiative, and attention to detail.
This role will be located in Houston Texas, and the ideal candidate will be within commutable distance to the Houston office location. This is an onsite required role.
