Job summary

Eastern Research Group, Inc. (ERG) seeks an Energetics Manufacturing Engineer to support energetics manufacturing operations and engineering activities at NSF Indian Head, MD.

The role targets process development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement within a highly regulated environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize efficiency, quality, reliability, and safety while ensuring documentation and procedures meet engineering and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of professional engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience in DoD/Navy/explosives/regulated manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, process documentation, and technical data.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Must hold or be able to obtain a DoD Secret-level security clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, evaluation, and improvement of energetics manufacturing processes and production operations.
• Analyze energetics manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, reliability, safety, and throughput.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to equipment, materials, processes, and manufacturing operations.
• Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, process documentation, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Support process development, testing, validation, and implementation of manufacturing improvements.
• Review production data and process performance to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address production delays, material or part quality issues, equipment breakdowns, and other manufacturing challenges.
• Ensure manufacturing processes and documentation align with applicable engineering, quality, safety, and customer requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide engineering support to manufacturing operations.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and other engineering deliverables.
