Job summary

ERG seeks an Energetics Manufacturing Engineer to support energetics manufacturing operations and engineering activities at the Naval Support Facility Indian Head, MD. The role requires a motivated engineer with strong technical expertise and experience in manufacturing environments.

The engineer will analyze, develop, test, and implement manufacturing improvements, review data for continuous improvement, and prepare technical reports and deliverables. DoD experience and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of professional engineering experience in manufacturing/production.
• Experience in DoD, Navy, explosives, energetics, chemical processing or other highly regulated environments preferred.
• Experience supporting, developing, improving, or troubleshooting manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and process documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Must currently hold or be able to obtain a DoD Secret-level security clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen; not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, evaluation, and improvement of energetics manufacturing processes and production operations
• Analyze energetics manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, reliability, safety, and throughput
• Troubleshoot production issues related to equipment, materials, processes, and manufacturing operations
• Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, process docs, specifications, and engineering documents
• Support process development, testing, validation, and implementation of manufacturing improvements
• Review production data and process performance to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address production delays, material or part quality issues, equipment breakdowns, and other challenges
• Ensure manufacturing processes and documentation align with engineering, quality, safety, and customer requirements
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide engineering support to manufacturing operations
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and other engineering deliverables
