Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking a part-time Gymnastics Instructor at Southwest YMCA in Greenfield, WI 53228. You will lead and demonstrate program curriculum to help participants grow in a fun, healthy, and safe environment.

Ideal candidates are at least 15, with gymnastics experience and strong communication, who can energize children and deliver engaging lessons while following YMCA policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• One year of gymnastics experience through a club or YMCA.
• Ability to demonstrate and verbally articulate gymnastics movements to the appropriate age group.
• Energetic, motivating, and enjoy working with young children.
• Strong oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and carry out class lesson plans.
• Create a welcoming and nurturing environment for all participants.
• Develop rapport and maintain effective relationships with participants and parents; model YMCA values.
• Conduct and provide participant evaluation during each program session.
• Secure a substitute instructor when unavailable to lead assigned program.
• Provide a safe environment for participants; ensure equipment and supplies are in good condition.
• Respond to emergency situations per YMCA policies; complete incident forms.
• Distribute necessary program information and be knowledgeable of upcoming program sessions and events.
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
• Adhere to all YMCA of Greater Waukesha County policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
