Job summary

Dominique Dawes Academy in Silver Spring, MD is seeking an entry-level Recreational Gymnastics Coach to lead safe, high-energy classes for preschool to intermediate athletes.

You’ll follow class plans, support skill development, and create a welcoming environment that mirrors the academy’s holistic approach. Training provided; weekend and after-school shifts available.

No prior gymnastics required; CPR/First Aid preferred.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience or strong interest in working with kids.

Responsibilities

• Instruct weekly gymnastics classes for preschool to intermediate athletes.
• Create a welcoming class environment aligned with holistic child development.
• Follow class plans, progressions, and safety protocols.
• Provide age-appropriate instruction that challenges while keeping fun.
• Spot and correct techniques to ensure safety and skill development.
• Engage with parents to share feedback and build community.
• Maintain a clean, organized training space and assist with equipment setup.
• Monitor safety and respond to injuries or concerns per gym protocols.
• Collaborate with teammates and management for smooth class transitions.
• Attend staff training, meetings, and seasonal evaluations.
