Job summary

Slick City Action Park in Columbus, OH is seeking an energetic Event Host to welcome guests, confirm event details, process payments, and hand out wristbands and City Socks.

As part of a fast-paced crew, you will greet guests, explain the event flow, guide birthday groups to their seats, supervise attractions safely, and coordinate setup and teardown to ensure every celebration runs smoothly.

Flexible hours, weekends required; prior guest-facing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (some college a plus).
• Prior experience in a guest-facing role (entertainment, hospitality, retail, or recreation) preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to enforce rules while staying friendly and professional.
• Reliable, responsible, and able to stay alert in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable handling basic transactions and using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable transportation to and from work. Must successfully complete a background check.
• Bilingual skills are a plus and valued in serving our diverse guest community.

Responsibilities

• Event Confirmation & Check-In: Confirm party/event details with hosts, ensure waivers are completed, process payments, and provide wristbands and City Socks for all guests.
• Guest Greeting & Communication: Welcome party guests with energy, explain the event flow, and serve as the main point of contact throughout the celebration.
• Event Coordination & Flow: Lead birthday groups to their reserved tables, guide them through attractions, and keep the event on schedule while ensuring a fun, safe experience.
• Food & Supplies Oversight: Help coordinate food service, ensure tables are stocked with necessary supplies, and oversee delivery/setup of food and beverages.
• Attraction Guidance & Safety: Demonstrate how to slide properly, provide basic rules/directions, and help guests navigate attractions safely during the event.
• Setup, Cleanup & Guest Satisfaction: Prepare event spaces before arrival, maintain cleanliness during the party, and handle teardown/cleanup after. Ensure the host family feels supported and their expectations are exceeded.
