The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to infection control, and ongoing competency in equipment and procedures within a busy GI/surgical environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 1+ year of experience in a GI, surgical, or procedural setting preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, AAMI, and AORN standards for sterilization and disinfection preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support mission and provide safe, patient-centered care.
• Assist physicians and clinical team during endoscopy procedures and prep.
• Demonstrate proper handling of endoscopy instruments and supplies.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain endoscopy equipment per policy.
• Perform room turnover and terminal cleaning between cases.
• Maintain accurate documentation for equipment processing and sterilization.
• Follow infection prevention guidelines to ensure a safe environment.
• Communicate with physicians, nurses, patients, and staff to promote workflow.
• Protect patient privacy and advocate for safety.
• Demonstrate competency and stay updated on procedures and equipment.
