Qualifications

• Basic patient care skills required.
• Familiarity with endoscopy procedures and equipment preferred.
• Under RN supervision, provides support to the endoscopy team.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care procedures as delegated under the direct supervision of the registered nurse.
• Provides a safe, efficient and supportive environment for the endoscopy patient.
• Maintains asepsis in a knowledgeable manner to provide optimum patient care.
• Prepares and knows specific uses of all equipment and supplies used for endoscopy procedures.
• Differentiates sterilization methods required for specific instruments and equipment.
• Organizes work efficiently to minimize time and material waste.
• Acts as a resource for other technical staff and participates in department activities.
