Job summary

UVA Community Health is seeking an Endoscopy Technologist to assist in pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care under physician and nurse supervision. The role requires dexterity, strength, and the ability to stand for long periods, with room turnover and high-level disinfection of endoscopes.

Minimum 2 years endoscopy experience preferred; certification within one year and registered medication aid licensure where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of endoscopy experience preferred; refer to Life Support Training Policy.
• Endoscopy Technician Certification required within one year of hire; Registered Medication Aid licensure where applicable.
• Ability to modify care according to patient age.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care throughout pre-, intra-, and post-procedure in endoscopy settings.
• Assist physician during procedures and in room turnover, including cleaning and disinfection.
• Assemble required equipment and supplies for endoscopy procedures.
• Organize supplies and equipment in endoscopy suites and prep areas.
• Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and patients.
