Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, NJ is seeking a day-shift, full-time Endoscopy Lab-B Endoscopy Technician to join our patient‑care team. You will assist the RN, perform decontamination and processing of endoscopes, and help ensure a safe, efficient procedure environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA or nursing student preferred, and BLS within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA or nursing student in program preferred.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Maintain a safe patient area and work as part of the care team.
• Participate in daily care planning with nursing staff.
• Decontaminate and process endoscopes after each use.
• Take vital signs and document results under RN direction.
• Assess patient needs by age and condition and adapt care accordingly.
• Follow physician and nursing instructions, hospital policies, and Endoscopy unit procedures.
• Understand endoscopic techniques and safety.
• Report patient observations to nurses promptly.
• Work in the scope room following unit policies.
• Clean, test, and disinfect scopes and other equipment per manufacturer and APIC guidelines.
• Perform any other duties assigned.
