Job summary

SCA Health is hiring an Endoscopy Technician to support endoscopy procedures, protect patients from risk, and maintain sterile equipment in a high-standard care setting.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, GI tech experience preferred, and BCLS certification within 90 days. Candidates will join a multidisciplinary team and participate in quality improvement initiatives in the New York region.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Prior Experience as a GI Tech preferred.
• Successful completion of BCLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Function as an assistive person during endoscopy procedures by protecting the patient from injury and following safety procedures.
• Handle specimens according to facility policy and procedures; assemble supplies and equipment; maintain sterile field.
• Evaluate the patient’s progress toward attaining outcomes and provide hand-off reports to teammates.
• Maintain endoscopy instruments and accessories, troubleshoot malfunctions, and ensure scopes are prepared per policies and manufacturer instructions.
• Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration with team members and stakeholders; participate in quality review and performance improvement projects.
