Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Monroeville seeks an Endoscopy Technician to assist during GI-endoscopic procedures under the direction of the endoscopist and RN. You will help maintain procedure room supplies and equipment, perform post-procedure instrument reprocessing, and document activities per policy.

Minimum high school diploma or GED is required; prior GI-endoscopy experience is preferred; CPR and background clearances are required by policy.

Qualifications

• Minimum High school diploma / GED or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred Associate's degree in health-related field.
• Prior GI-endoscopy experience.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the maintenance of Procedure room supplies and endoscopic equipment. Ensures adequate equipment is available and in good condition.
• Functions as an integral member of the team during GI-endoscopic procedures.
• Disassembles and reprocesses instrumentation post-procedure; maintains documentation.
• Maintains effective two-way communications with patients, families, and all health care team members.
• May assist with special procedures under the direction of the RN and MD (e.g., Yag lasers, wound care).
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
