Job summary

A regional healthcare provider is looking for an individual to assist during GI-endoscopic procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining procedure room supplies and equipment, communicating with patients and the healthcare team, and assisting with special procedures as needed. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, along with required certifications such as CPR and various background clearances. Experience in GI-endoscopy is preferred.

Qualifications

• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assist during endoscopic procedures under direction of the endoscopist and/or RN.
• Maintain procedure room supplies and endoscopic equipment.
• Disassemble and reprocess instrumentation after procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
• Assist with special procedures under direction of RN and MD.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Acts under the direction of the endoscopist and/or Registered Nurse during endoscopic procedures. May assist the RN in technical aspects of circulating duties.

Essential Responsibilities

• Participates in the maintenance of Procedure room supplies and endoscopic equipment. Assures the integrity/condition and availability of adequate equipment. (40%)
• Functions as an integral member of the team throughout the performance of GI-endoscopic procedures. (30%)
• Disassembles and reprocesses instrumentation on a post-procedure basis as per current departmental policy. Maintains documentation as per policy. (20%)
• Maintains effective two-way communications with patients, families, and all members of the health care team. (5%)
• May assist with special procedures under the direction of the RN and MD (e.g., Yag lasers, wound care, etc.). (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
