Job summary

Danbury Hospital seeks an Endoscopy Technologist to provide attentive, goal-directed care for GI procedures. You will prepare rooms, assist physicians, and ensure sterile technique and proper handling of endoscopic equipment.

Under the Endoscopy Nurse Manager, you will monitor sedation, maintain QA logs, train new staff, and support inventory control. The role requires HS Grad and certification, CPR, and at least one year of endoscopy experience.

Qualifications

• HS Grad/EQUIVALENT required.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures.
• Endoscopy experience required.
• Minimum Experience: one year.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms with instruments, supplies and equipment for each endoscopic procedure.
• Assists physicians with all types of endoscopic procedures using universal precautions.
• Maintains sterile technique and monitors aseptic field.
• Processes lab specimens appropriately.
• Cleans and disinfects endoscopes and accessories.
• Trains and precepts new employees; participates in education and total quality management.
