Job summary

Capital Health seeks a GI Endoscopy Technician to assist Endoscopists in all procedures, prepare endoscopy procedures, and maintain the endoscopy suite. You will help with cleaning and sterilization of endoscopes and ensure efficient room turnover while supporting patient safety.

The role requires six months of endoscopy experience, High School diploma or equivalent, and AHA BLS; on-call weeknights, weekends, and holidays at Hopewell and Hamilton locations may apply.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Six months experience in an Endoscopy unit.
• Credentials: AHA BLS; Non-Licensed must obtain before orientation period.
• Knowledge: Ability to handle multiple tasks; knowledge of ERCP and bronchoscopy.
• Training: Six months training in endoscopy; on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician and RN with endoscopic procedures and related tasks.
• Prepare endoscopy procedures and ensure proper patient positioning and confirmation of procedure.
• Assist in cleaning, sterilization and maintenance of endoscopes and equipment.
• Transport patients to and from the Endoscopy Suite with safety and privacy.
• Maintain logs for decontamination solutions, scope tracking and usage; ensure clean technique.
