Job summary

Midtown Endoscopy & Surgical Center in New York is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to join our Gastroenterology team. The role supports the Endoscopy room, patient preparation, and instrument processing, ensuring smooth procedure flow and patient safety.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, preparing rooms, reprocessing endoscopes, specimen handling, scope tracking, and equipment troubleshooting. This is a full-time position with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years of experience as an Endoscopy Technician.
• Competence in reprocessing of endoscopes and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures.
• Prepare and set up procedure rooms with instruments and equipment.
• Perform cleaning, high-level disinfection (HLD), and reprocessing of endoscopes and accessories.
• Restock rooms, linens, and supplies.
• Assist with collection and preparation of specimens for cytology, microbiology, and pathology.
• Operate and maintain Automated Endoscope Reprocessors (AERs).
• Monitor scope tracking, reprocessing logs, and quality control checks.
• Assist with patient positioning and provide support before, during, and after procedures.
• Handle, label, and transport specimens to the appropriate lab.
• Perform routine safety checks and troubleshoot equipment issues.
