Job summary

AmSurg Corp. is seeking a full-time Endoscopy Technologist with GI experience for our Oakland facility. The role involves assisting with patient prep, supporting physicians during endoscopy procedures, and ensuring proper handling of specimens and instruments.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterile technique, restocking supplies, and coordinating with the endoscopy team to ensure efficient, safe procedures. Requires a high school diploma and BLS; 1 year of endoscopy experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Endoscopy technologist experience (1 year) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for designated procedure as requested by physician.
• Assist physician during endoscopy procedure.
• Handle patient specimens per policy.
• Complete lab slips and culture/path slips as requested.
• Report changes in patient condition to Endoscopy/Recovery Room nurse.
• Restock supplies after procedures and at day end.
• Maintain endoscopy suite equipment, supplies and instruments.
• Ensure high level disinfection and sterility of instruments.
• Follow cleaning, disinfection and sterilization procedures for instruments.
• Clean endoscopy suite between cases and perform terminal cleaning.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and participate in safety programs.

Education

High school Diploma or equivalent

BLS certification

One year experience as a endoscopy technologist (preferred)
