Job summary

Cambridge Health Alliance's ENDO/GI Center at Somerville Hospital seeks an Endoscopy Technician to support gastroenterology procedures in a busy, multilingual setting. You will assist the gastroenterologist and Endo/GI nurses, help prepare rooms, and maintain equipment in a state-of-the-art endoscopy suite.

Requirements: High School Diploma, an Associate in Health Care preferred, AHA BLS, SGNA training within six months, and at least one year of GI/Endo experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associates degree in Health Care preferred.
• AHA BLS certificate required.
• SGNA program completion within six months for current or new hires.
• Minimum 1 year GI, surgical technician, and/or Endo care experience.
• On-call and variable start times.

Responsibilities

• Daily testing of glucometer.
• Set-up of procedure rooms with appropriate equipment and supplies.
• Enters procedural data into ProVation.
• Adheres to high level disinfecting standards for reprocessing endoscopes.
• Assists provider with endoscopy procedures.
• Stocks rooms.
• Performs unit specific quality testing.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
• Ability to manage high volumes of patients in a short span of time.
• Personal flexibility to perform in an ever-changing work environment with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and coworkers.
