Job summary

Duke Health is hiring an Endoscopy Technician at Duke GI-Endoscopy in Raleigh. The role supports GI and pulmonary endoscopic care by preparing patients, equipment, and rooms; assisting providers during procedures; and ensuring infection control and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Level I requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Level II requires high school diploma or GED, or graduation from an accredited surgical technology program.
• Completion of a related healthcare training program (Surgical Technology, Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or equivalent) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up procedure rooms with supplies, instruments, and equipment for scheduled procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures, assist with positioning, transport, and monitoring equipment.
• Assist physicians and nursing staff during procedures and manage specimens.
• Perform manual cleaning, high-level disinfection, sterilization, and storage of endoscope equipment.
• Calibrate and perform routine maintenance on equipment and manage inventory.
• Adhere to patient privacy, safety, infection control, and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission requirements.
• Demonstrate safe, organized procedural environment and coordinate resources during procedures.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Graduate of accredited surgical technology program

Healthcare training program (Surgical Tech/MA/NA) preferred
