Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA seeks an Endoscopy Technician to support GI/endoscopy procedures. You will prepare procedure rooms and equipment, ensure sterility, and assist physicians and nurses during procedures, while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

The role involves sterilizing equipment, organizing supplies, and maintaining clear documentation. A warm, compassionate approach helps protect patient privacy and well-being throughout care.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Preparing procedure rooms and endoscopy equipment, verifying equipment is in proper working order, and keeping supplies organized
• Helping position and transport patients safely and comfortably while using proper body mechanics to protect both patients and yourself
• Supporting physicians and nurses during procedures, including handling instruments, collecting specimens, and following proper safety practices
• Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing endoscopy equipment, and keeping accurate records for quality and safety
• Communicating with kindness and compassion to patients and families, keeping them informed, and supporting their privacy and comfort throughout their care
