Job summary

Tavares Surgery Center, LLC is seeking a GI Endoscopy Technician to support surgical procedures as part of the operating team in a clinical setting in Florida. The role involves assisting with endoscopic equipment, patient flow, and room readiness for various procedures.

The technician will also be responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining endoscopes, stocking supplies, and handling clerical tasks to ensure a smooth workflow and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a GI Lab.
  • Ambulatory surgical center or surgical hospital experience preferred.
  • Current BLS required, ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with operation of technical equipment during endoscopic procedures.
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain endoscopes and instruments.
  • Manage patient flow and prepare the room for procedures.
  • Stock supplies, order materials, and handle clerical tasks.

GI Endoscopy Tech at Tavares Surgery Center

The GI Technician/Endoscopy operates under the direct supervision of a surgeon to assist with the operation of technical equipment used during both simple and complex endoscopic procedures. The physician, registered nurse, and GI technician collaborate in the procedure room to create ideal conditions for achieving positive patient outcomes. The GI technician is also responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining endoscopes and other instruments. Additional duties of the GI technician include managing patient flow, preparing the room for procedures, stocking supplies, ordering materials, and handling various clerical tasks.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a GI Lab
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center or surgical hospital preferred
  • Current BLS required, ACLS preferred
