Job summary

UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs seeks an onsite Endoscopy Support Technician to provide technical support for diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. The role schedules 72 hours per pay period (2 weeks) with day shifts.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED and BLS certification. Experience is not required beyond having the BLS card in-hand by start date; onsite only with no remote option.

Qualifications

• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.
• BLS card valid through 60 days after hire; renewals by American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses during procedures and patient care.
• Process tissue and bodily fluids specimens.
• Prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment; perform sterilization.
• Keep GI procedure area clean and stocked for procedures.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Pay:$19.67 - $25.57 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary

Provides technical support for diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and nurses with performing procedures and providing patient care.
• Processes tissue and bodily fluids specimens.
• Prepares and maintains endoscopy equipment and supplies. Performs endoscope sterilization and processing.
• Maintains the GI procedure area in a clean, safe condition. Ensures necessary equipment and supplies are available for procedures.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
  Minimum Experience: None Required.
• BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross with card in-hand before start date. BLS card must be good through sixty days of hire. All renewals must be issued by the American Heart Association.
