Job summary

Asante in Oregon is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to safely assist physicians with endoscopic procedures and to ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of reusable equipment.

You will set up equipment, troubleshoot during procedures, collect specimens, and maintain compliance with departmental standards while delivering high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of direct patient care experience, preferably in an acute care environment.
• BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified by the American Heart Association required upon start.
• SGNA: Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with endoscopic procedures and collect specimens.
• Set up equipment and troubleshoot problems during procedures.
• Clean and reprocess reusable endoscopy equipment according to standards.
• Maintain skills and knowledge of endoscopy best practices.
• Communicate procedure details to staff and physicians.

SalaryRange:$23.26 - $31.99

Shift Differentials:

• $1.44 extra an hour for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm (swing)
• $2.55 extra an hour for working between 11:00pm and 7:00am (nights)
• $1.27 extra an hour for working weekends

Position Summary

The role of the Endoscopy Technician is to safely and competently assist physicians with endoscopic procedures throughout the hospital. The Endoscopy Tech is also responsible for the proper cleaning and maintenance of reusable equipment necessary for these procedures.

As an Endoscopy Tech you will have the opportunity to:

• Perform endoscopic therapeutic and diagnostic procedures according to departmental standards and protocols
• Assist the physicians with the procedure, collecting specimens and processing according to policy
• Ensure that the equipment is set-up correctly and is functioning properly before procedure begins and trouble shoot problems effectively during the procedure if needed
• Ensure that the equipment is cleaned and reprocessed according to departmental standards
• Maintain skills to provide a quality service and keep current with the industry
• Communicate pertinent information concerning the procedure to the appropriate staff and physician

Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of direct patient care experience, preferably in an acute care environment, is required

Licensure/Certifications
