Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Gastroenterology Technician 2 to support GI procedures under clinical oversight. You will assist with examinations, operate scopes, and help ensure safety and quality in the GI Lab, guiding fellow technicians and overseeing cleanup and sterilization of equipment.

• Collaborate with Clinical Nurses to document data during patient admission and discharge in the GI Lab.
• Order supplies, obtain supervisor approval, and communicate with vendors for timely delivery.
• Monitor equipment and generate quality reports; manage maintenance schedules and installations.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Partner with nurses and doctors during sedation procedures. Use scopes, monitor vital signs, and assist with emergencies like CPR.
• Keep equipment clean and sanitized. Train and oversee others to ensure quality control during gastrointestinal procedures.
• Assist in the recovery room by monitoring and noting patient physiological data. Additionally, you'll prepare specimen slides for lab investigation.
• Make sure technicians follow standards. Give feedback and train new technicians.
• Partner with Clinical Nurses in documenting required data during patient admission and discharge in the GI Lab.
