Job summary

Piedmont Mountainside Hospital is seeking an endoscopy unit assistant/secretary to support physicians and nursing staff in Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy. You'll help with procedures, maintain supplies, and ensure clean equipment.

This role involves clerical duties, chart assembly, and charges processing under RN direction. Education: GED required; GI/OR Tech or CNA/MA preferred; BLS certification required.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• GI/OR Technology program preferred.
• CNA/MA program preferred.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists the physician in endoscopic procedures.
• Maintains supplies and equipment in Endoscopy Department.
• Cleans and disinfects equipment per policy.
• Provides patient care under RN direction in Ambulatory Care/Endoscopy.
• Performs clerical duties to ensure department function.
• Assemble and maintain patient chart material; maintain records.
• Complete charges for patients.

Responsibilities

• Assists the physician in the performance of endoscopic procedures.
• Maintains supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department in proper working order.
• Cleans and disinfects equipment according to unit and hospital policy.
• Provides appropriate patient care to the Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Performance of clerical duties as necessary to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy.
• Assemble and maintain patient chart material, maintain records and files, maintains order, cleanliness of the workstation.
• Completes charges for patients.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• Graduate of GI/OR Technology program Preferred
• Graduate of CNA/MA program Preferred

Work Experience

• No experience required
• Previous experience as Unit Secretary or as CNA/MA Preferred
• Previous experience in Endoscopy Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Current AHA BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
