Job summary

Henry Ford Health System is seeking an Endoscopy Tech to join the Gastroenterology unit in Detroit. The role supports patient comfort and care within Endoscopy under direct supervision, coordinating with RNs to observe and relay pertinent data during procedures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and preferably graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program, Surgical Technician, or EMT training, with two years of healthcare exposure in a clinic setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program, Surgical Technician, EMT training.
• Familiarity with endoscopy equipment or scope/instrument reprocessing preferred.
• Minimal two years health care exposure in a similar clinic setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, performs nursing care functions within Endoscopy to support patient comfort.
• Observes patients and communicates pertinent data to the RN.
• Performs technical patient care services under supervision of nursing leadership or RN/Charge RN.

Education

High School graduate or GED

Accredited Medical Assistant/Surgical Technician/EMT training (CAAHEP/ABHES)

Familiarity with endoscopy equipment or reprocessing
