Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando is seeking a part-time Endoscopy Technician to monitor instruments, follow disinfection procedures, and assist in patient care under RN and physician supervision. You will help maintain a prepared endoscopy room and ensure safe handling of equipment while supporting a high-stress clinical environment.

The role requires basic computer skills, flexibility in scheduling, strong communication, and a compassionate, team-oriented approach to caring for patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv is required.
• Technical/Vocational School is preferred.
• Basic computer skills are required to document procedures.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

• Monitors levels of all endoscopy instruments and supplies.
• Follows written procedures for high-level disinfection and chemical and biological monitoring.
• Performs treatments and procedures within the defined scope of practice.
• Provides supportive care to patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and physician.
• Ensures the endoscopy suite is adequately prepared for procedures.
• Prepares the room in a timely manner with all anticipated supplies and equipment for each endoscopy procedure.
• Demonstrates competence in the care and accurate handling of specimens.
• Checks all equipment and instruments needed prior to each procedure to ensure proper functioning.
• Assists in positioning, prepping, and draping patients for endoscopy procedures.
• Maintains an orderly environment and anticipates the needs of the physician during procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the setup of multi-specialty endoscopy procedures. Other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates dexterity, knowledge, and safety in the care and handling of endoscopy instrumentation and supplies.
