Job summary

Kingwood Surgery Center in Humble, TX is seeking an Endoscopy Tech to support GI/endoscopy procedures under a GI/Endoscopy Nurse supervision. You will help maintain a clean, sterile environment and ensure the GI unit is prepared with the necessary equipment.

The role requires a Surgical Technology program background (preferred), at least 1 year of acute care experience (ideally ambulatory surgery), and a valid BCLS certification upon employment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred.
• One-year acute care experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a sanitary environment for patients.
• Demonstrate high disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment.
• Prepare the endoscopy unit adequately and ensure availability of necessary GI equipment and supplies.
• Clean GI treatment rooms between procedures and prepare rooms for the next case.
• Assist in the maintenance, care and labeling of specimens.
• Identify specimen with the surgeon and pass to the circulating RN.
