Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to perform basic Nursing Assistant duties and assist clinicians during endoscopic procedures. You will help prepare the endoscopy suite and monitor instrument availability while ensuring patient safety.

The role requires knowledge of endoscopy reprocessing, adherence to infection prevention policies, and the ability to document accurately. A Surgical Technology background or a HS diploma/GED with NA I eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or HS diploma/GED.
• If HS diploma or GED, must be listed as NC Nursing Assistant I for pre/post patient care.
• Prefer one year of relevant healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Clerical duties: uses scheduling system, coordinates endoscopy procedures, stocks inventory and maintains rooms.
• Clinical: assists MD and RN during procedures, documents vital signs and patient data.
• Professional Development: maintains BLS and completes required competency checklists.
• Technical: follows high-level disinfection (HLD) policies and maintains reprocessing equipment.
