Job summary

Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital is seeking an Endoscopy Technician for the Day shift (6:30am-3pm, Monday-Friday) with call requirements and BLS certification. Responsibilities

• Assists physicians with endoscopy procedures as assigned by a Registered Nurse delivering appropriate care to clients.
• Obtains and prepares supplies and instruments according to physician preferences; restocks supplies and maintains endoscopy rooms.
• Assists in scheduling and rescheduling of patients.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors and adheres to Memorial Hermann policies and standards.

Job Summary

Endoscopy Tech, Days

• Full time; 6:30am-3pm (Monday-Friday)

• BLS (American Heart Assoc) required
• Completion of an Endoscopy Technician Certification Program or one year of equivalent healthcare experience required
• 2+years of Endo experience preferred
• Must be able to assist physician in procedure room, clean scopes, transport patients and be an extra set up hands on unit. ALL staff (RNs included) are expected to clean/ transport and help unit.

This position is located at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital.

Position responsible for assisting the physician in the operating room/endoscopy services under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an Endoscopy Technician Certification Program or one year of equivalent healthcare experience required.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Principal Accountabilities

• Assists physicians with endoscopy procedures as assigned by a registered nurse delivering appropriate care to clients according to the Endoscopy Skills Inventory.
• Obtains and prepares supplies and instruments according to the individual physician preferences; restocks supplies, and maintains the endoscopy rooms.
• Assists in the scheduling and rescheduling of patients.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
• Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
