Job summary

Memorial Hermann Memorial City is seeking a Supp Endoscopy Tech to assist physicians in endoscopy procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This PRN position features varied shifts and no on-call requirements.

The candidate should have a High School Diploma or GED, CNA or equivalent certification, and at least 1 year of nurse assistant or healthcare experience. BLS is required; SGNA is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians with endoscopy procedures as assigned by a registered nurse delivering appropriate care to clients according to the Endoscopy Skills Inventory.
• Obtains and prepares supplies and instruments according to the individual physician preferences; restocks supplies, and maintains the endoscopy rooms.
• Assists in the scheduling and rescheduling of patients.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
• Promotes professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department goals; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.

Position responsible for assisting the physician in the operating room/endoscopy services under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Licenses/Certifications: Certified Nurse Assistant or the equivalent combination in education; training, and experience

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to perform basic mathematical calculations
• One (1) year experience as a nurse assistant or equivalent healthcare experience
