Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking a Surgical Technologist to ensure availability of equipment and supplies for endoscopy and surgical procedures, scrub for surgeries, and assist with endoscopy procedures under RN supervision.

You will organize activities and supplies, provide direct patient care, and adapt to changes in department needs while maintaining clinical knowledge and credentials. Remote work is not offered; on-site presence is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or military program (Online programs not accepted).
• 5 years of Surgical Technologist Experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care duties.
• Organizes activities and supplies based on surgery schedule and daily needs of the department.
• Competently cares for patients with supervision of the staff nurse.
• Communicates information pertaining to patient care needs to patients, family members and co-workers.
• Maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials.
• Adapts to rapid changes in the department caused by unit census, patient acuity and resource availability.
• Performs other related duties as required.
