Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) PRN Endoscopy to provide professional nursing care, perform assessments, and educate patients. The role involves collaboration with physicians and the health care team to ensure compassionate, high-quality care and outcomes.

The position requires two years of RN experience, Texas licensure with compact provisions, and BLS; ACLS is expected within four months. Magnet certification is preferred and leadership opportunities exist within the unit.

Qualifications

• Two years RN experience in a healthcare environment required.
• RN - Texas license with PSv Compact license or equivalent; must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days if establishing residency.
• Current BLS; ACLS certification within 4 months; Magnet certification preferred.
• Proficiency in medical records documentation and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatment, and maintain records.
• Communicate and collaborate with physicians and the interprofessional team.
• Lead or participate in unit governance, serve as charge nurse or preceptor when needed.
• Provide patient and family advocacy and ensure safety and quality care.
