Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Registered Nurse II to provide professional nursing care, perform assessments, assist with exams and treatments, and maintain medical records. The role involves leadership duties such as charge nurse or preceptor responsibilities and collaborative care with physicians and the health care team.

Eligible candidates will have RN licensure in Texas, BLS and ACLS within specified timelines, and at least 12 months of RN experience.

Qualifications

• Twelve months registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment.
• Texas RN licensure required; TX PSV Compact license must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days.
• BLS certification required and ACLS within 4 months.
• Magnet certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments and provide direct patient care.
• Develop, update and communicate plan of care with patient and interprofessional team.
• Provide patient teaching and discharge planning.
• Assist with exams, treatments, and maintenance of medical records.
• Lead unit initiatives and mentor students or new staff when needed.
