Job summary

J Arthur Dosher memorial hospital is seeking an Endoscopy Nurse to provide optimum nursing care in the Endoscopy suite. Responsibilities include patient preparation, assisting during procedures, and post-procedure recovery in line with professional standards.

Qualifications require graduation from an accredited nursing program, current NC RN license, BLS certification, ACLS training, and at least 1 year of endoscopy experience preferred. On-site work in North Carolina.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited professional school of nursing.
• Must have current NC license as a registered nurse.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS training.
• At least one (1) year of experience in endoscopy procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for endoscopy procedure, including patient preparation and meeting patient/family member.
• Assist with pre-op and post-op phone calls for endoscopy patients.
• Assist with chart preparation before endoscopy and cataract surgery cases.
• Review chart for completeness: Pre-op Questionnaire, History and Physical, ensure consent is signed.
• Help surgeon with instruments and provide assistance.
• Provide pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care of the patient.
• Recover the sedated patient.
• Assist with ambulatory care responsibilities.

Education

Graduate of accredited professional school of nursing

Current NC license as a registered nurse

Current BLS certification

ACLS training
