Job summary

Iredell Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality patient care. The role requires current RN licensure and completion of unit-specific orientation, with skills in venous access and sedation support as part of perioperative and endoscopy teams.

Candidates should be able to work within a hospital setting, adhering to mission and nursing philosophy. Full responsibility includes collaboration with anesthesia and operating room staff to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure is required.
• Orientation on preoperative patients and anesthesia procedures is required.
• Skilled in peripheral venous access.
• Competent to administer moderate sedation and assist with deep sedation.
• ACLS/Heart Association or Red Cross certification per unit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prescribes nursing care and delegates nursing activities.
• Coordinates assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Maintains access to patient health information as required by hospital policy.
• Endoscopy experience preferred for endoscopy units.

Description

The Registered Nurse prescribes nursing care, delegates nursing activities, and coordinates the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care to provide optimal quality care, consistent with the hospital’s mission and nursing philosophy, objectives, and standards. Has full access to patient health information.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse Licensure in North Carolina.
• Successful completion of hospital and Holding Room orientation which includes age and population specific skills required for continuity of care of preoperative patients and/or patients requiring interventions provided by the Department of Anesthesia.
• Skilled in peripheral venous access
• Competent to administer Moderate Sedation and assist with Deep Sedation
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support required for Endo
• Certification in BCLS and ACLS by American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Certifications per unit-based requirement.
• Endoscopy experience preferred for Endo

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
