Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland is seeking a Registered Nurse RN Endoscopy to join our surgical team in Texas City. The role focuses on patient-centered care, safety, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

You will evaluate patients preoperatively, educate families, and ensure proper preparation and site verification. This night/weekend rotation requires ACLS, BCLS and PALS within 30 days, an RN license, an Associate Degree, and at least 1 year of acute care RN experience.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 30 days must be obtained after start date
• BCLS within 30 days must be obtained after start date
• PALS within 30 days must be obtained after start date
• RN license/certification required
• Associate Degree required
• 1 year RN experience in an acute care setting required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Educate patients and families about perioperative process
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and site verification
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons, and staff as part of a dynamic team
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to ensure safe care
• Monitor patient condition and document changes thoroughly
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions and follow-up measures
