Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake in the Houston area is seeking a Registered Nurse RN Endoscopy to contribute to patient care in the operating room. You will evaluate patients preop, educate families, participate in site verification, and work with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of employment start date.
• RN license current and active in state of practice.
• Associate Degree in nursing.
• 1 year RN experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications; verify surgical site.
• Participate in surgical site verification per hospital policy (briefing, time-out, debriefing).
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using evidence-based practices and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with a dynamic interdisciplinary team (providers, surgeons, techs, and more).
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes accurately.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up.
