Job summary

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care under general supervision. The role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing, Maryland RN licensure, and BLS certification.

Experience in the specialty area or GBMC's LPN pathway with director approval is needed. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and coordination of care, along with patient teaching, discharge planning and adherence to GBMC values.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Two year Registered Nurse experience required in the specific specialty area or LPN experience at GBMC with director approval.
• Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Registered Nurse.
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification from an affiliated American Heart Association training site.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Provides direct patient care and administers medications, IV therapy and treatments.
• Communicates patient status and plan of care to physicians, nurses and other health care professionals.
• Coordinates patient activities with other disciplines and supervises ancillary staff when applicable.
• Participates in patient teaching, discharge planning and quality improvement activities.
