Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Registered Nurse II to provide professional nursing care, conduct assessments, and support complex patient populations. This role works with physicians and an interprofessional team to deliver compassionate, high-quality care.

The RN II demonstrates clinical competence in medications, procedures, and emergencies, pursuing leadership opportunities as charge nurse or preceptor, and participating in unit governance and service line initiatives.

Qualifications

• 12 months registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment.
• Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s).
• RN license in Texas with permanent license within 60 days (if establishing residency).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care and conduct assessments per patient needs.
• Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional health care team to coordinate care.
• Lead unit activities, precept students or new staff when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate medical records and document care and interventions.
• Support patient safety, education, and family advocacy.
