Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an RN II to provide competent professional nursing care across a diverse patient population. The role includes performing nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatments, educating patients and families, and maintaining accurate medical records.

The RN II demonstrates clinical competence with medications and emergent care, communicates with the care team, and may lead unit initiatives, serve as charge nurse or preceptor, and participate in shared governance.

Qualifications

• Twelve months registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment.
• RN—Texas licensure; must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days if establishing residency.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care and conducts nursing assessments for diverse patient populations.
• Assist with examinations, treatments, education, and maintenance of medical records.
• Communicate and collaborate with physicians and interprofessional team to coordinate care.
• Assume leadership roles such as charge nurse or preceptor to students or new staff.
