Job summary

UNC Johnston Endoscopy in Smithfield, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide competent clinical nursing care in a fast-paced endoscopy unit. This role reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and requires coordinating patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting.

Must have NC RN licensure, BLS, and at least two years of nursing experience. Work hours are Monday–Friday 7:30–4 with potential on-call time after hours; full-time onsite position with 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Education: identify learning needs and educate patients/families.
• Evaluation of care: participate in care plan evaluation and communication.
• Implementation: provide competent care for patients with complex needs.
• Leadership: support unit goals and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Patient assessment: identify care priorities and discharge planning needs.
• Planning: collaborate with family to update the care plan.
• Research: review journals and discuss applicable findings with staff.
