Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest in Houston, TX is hiring an Endoscopy RN to join a leading surgical team. You will evaluate patients pre- and peri-operatively, educate families, prepare IV therapy and medications, and participate in site verifications and safety protocols.

You will work with providers, surgeons, technologists and staff to deliver safe, evidence-based care, apply the nursing process, monitor patients, document changes, and support continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required.
• Bachelor's or Associate degree in nursing.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy and preoperative medications
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including providers and surgeons
• Apply the nursing process and document patient condition and care provided
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment and follow-up measures
