Job summary

Medical City Lewisville, part of HCA Healthcare, is interviewing an Endoscopy Registered Nurse (PRN) to join our surgical services team. This role focuses on patient assessment, education, and safe perioperative care within a multidisciplinary environment.

You will evaluate patients prior to surgery, prepare for procedures, verify sites, manage IV therapy and medications, and participate in time-out and universal protocol processes with the team.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 90 days of employment start date.
• BLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS within 90 days of employment start date.
• RN – Registered Nurse license or current license to practice in Texas.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• No Travel Required.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in a relevant setting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients for surgery including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Perform surgical site verification and participate in briefing, time-out and debriefing per hospital policy.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including providers and surgeons.
• Apply nursing process with careful assessment and documentation of patient status.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment and follow-up.
