Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Columbia, SC seeks an Endoscopy Registered Nurse to deliver and manage care for patients undergoing endoscopy, including education on procedural and post-procedural steps.

The role involves pre/post-procedure assessments, administering medications, coordinating care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. Strong RN licensure and endoscopy experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program and licensed RN.
• Endoscopy/GI experience preferred (2+ years).
• Excellent English communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to perform conscious sedation and monitor patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for age-specific patients.
• Provide conscious sedation and assist during procedures.
• Pre-procedure assessments and post-procedure recovery.
• Coordinate care, patient education, and transitional care.
• Administer medications per policies and supervise staff as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure safe care.
• Document outcomes and changes in patient condition.
