Job summary

United Digestive in Athens, GA, is seeking a Registered Nurse for its endoscopy center. The RN provides individualized care per physician orders, plans and evaluates nursing interventions, and ensures patient safety through all phases of the procedure and recovery.

Must hold Georgia RN licensure and a nursing degree; GI endoscopy experience is preferred. BLS is required; ACLS is recommended but optional. Some travel to sister centers may be required.

Qualifications

• Current State license to practice as an RN in Georgia.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• GI endoscopy experience preferred.
• Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support certification; ACLS recommended but optional.
• Completion of Airway Management Module required prior to IV conscious sedation; 100% on post-test.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care in the endoscopy center according to physicians’ orders and nursing standards.
• Plan, execute and evaluate the nursing care given to patients throughout their procedure and recovery.
• Maintain contact with patients during all phases of their experience and ensure safety and comfort.
• Be self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision; may travel to a sister center.
