Job summary

Northwestern Medicine's Endoscopy Registered Nurse position in Illinois requires a BSN, an Illinois RN license, and a minimum of one year in a similar role. The nurse prescribes, delegates, and coordinates care for acutely ill patients using the nursing process and evidence-based practice, while engaging patients and families in discharge planning.

Qualifications

BSN required for all new hires
Licensed RN in Illinois
At least 1 year of experience in a similar role
CPR – Basic Life Support
CPR – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Basic computer knowledge
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Excellent customer service skills
Compliance with Illinois Practice Act for Nursing and ANA Standards
Ability to use interpreter services when needed
Flexibility for scheduling changes including overtime and on-call responsibilities

Responsibilities

Collects and analyzes data to develop an individualized plan of care and coordinates care delivery
Directs care and utilizes any assistants appropriately
Engages patient and family in care, teaching, discharge planning
Performs all aspects of patient care ensuring safety and reducing medical errors
Assesses and manages patient pain and educates patient/family on pain management
Handoffs to the next healthcare provider
Assumes on-call assignments
