Job summary

Advocate Trinity Hospital – Gastrointestinal Services is seeking an Endoscopy Technician for a part-time role (24 hours per week). The position involves patient transport, setup, assisting with endoscopic procedures, and ensuring safety and sterility per SGNA standards.

Responsibilities include patient care, room setup, specimen handling, and collaboration with RN and physicians. Requires high school diploma and at least 1 year related experience; benefits eligible as part of Advocate Health.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year related experience.
• Patient care experience preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: keyboard, communication, organization and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe patient care and assist with endoscopy procedures.
• Transport patients to and from the unit and assist with positioning.
• Assist with specimen collection, labeling, and transport to the lab.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for procedures and ensure turnover.
• Assist with pre- and post-procedure care under RN guidance.
• Communicate pertinent information to RN/Charge Nurse/Manager/Physician.
• Follow SGNA decontamination standards and maintain a clean work area.
• Maintain equipment and report malfunctions to charge person/BI Medical Engineering.
