Job summary

Methodist Hospital Stone Oak in San Antonio, TX is seeking an experienced RN for Endoscopy GI PRN shifts. On-call is required during select non-business hours as part of a collaborative, patient-centered surgical team.

The role emphasizes safe peri-operative care, education, and adherence to standardized nursing processes. The ideal candidate will hold a Texas RN license, have at least six months of clinical RN experience, and be capable of contributing to continuous improvement in a high-tech

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
• Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse.
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (RN Compact License holders must obtain Texas RN License within 60 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications; verify surgical site.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and participate in continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support safe nursing care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor and document changes during shift.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment, and follow-up.
